MATEO presents his long-awaited solo project with a full Album "Vengo De Frente Vol I & II".

Characterized for being a fresh, organic, and eclectic proposal, “Vengo de Frente Vol I & II” is an album built from Afro-Latin, Pop-Rock, Afro-Beat, and Dance Hall elements.

A production that stands out for its cohesion and maturity as well as for its format and musical structure. MATEO brings an authentic, assumed, and accessible sound. With the first release of 5 tracks in 2020 (Vengo De Frente Vol I), the work marked a trend in the local Canadian scene by obtaining the recognition of "Revelation Radio Canada 2020-2021" in the category World music, material which, despite being entirely in Spanish, managed to captivate and cross borders by positioning MATEO as a figure in the “Latin New Vibe scene”.

Six new songs have been added to this first opus to have a complete album of 11 tracks as well as to give a final touch to the sound direction of the project.

It should be noted that in addition to the particular voice of MATEO, the work with the musicians who make up the project had a big influence on its identity since the richness, as well as the Canadian multicultural context, allowed the inclusion of the Jamaican Dan Fyah Beats on drums, Cuban Hanser Santos Gómez on percussion, Peruvian/Canadian guitarist Tito Sono and Colombian bassist Diego Cruz Lora. A mixture of ingredients that, under the production of Leon Yehoudah Perez (Azul Rojo Music), has managed to integrate the necessary elements to give the final touch to MATEO's compositions.

Mateo is a Colombian artist based in Montreal Canada, blending Latin Alternative pop-rock with Afro-Latin rhythms to create a sound that’s as vibrant and unique as his journey. Known for his electrifying energy and genre-bending style, Mateo’s music is a fusion of timeless Latin influences and modern, eclectic sounds that keep listeners hooked.

Since moving to Montreal at 19, Mateo has made waves in the Canadian music scene with his raw talent and undeniable originality. He’s earned plenty of recognition, including "Artist of the Year" (2020-2021) on CBC Radio Canada, and "Album of the Year" (2024) at the Canada Latin Awards, just to name a few. From sharing stages at festivals like the Montreal International Jazz Festival and Nuits d'Afrique, to rocking crowds in Colombia and Cuba, Mateo’s live shows are as unforgettable as his music.

In May 2023, he dropped his long-awaited solo album, backed by his 4-piece band, solidifying his place as one of the most exciting artists to watch in today’s Latin and global music scene. His sound is constantly evolving, but one thing’s for sure: Mateo brings something fresh to every beat.
